The data that I collected suggests that all college students like to express themselves in what they do and how they decorate their room. People that gave me their time dialogue and allowed me to take a picture of their dorm were freshman. For freshman, being at college is a freedom that they haven’t experienced yet. So they have complete control over what they do and how they decorate their dorm. The dorm room it is a place to express yourself and show what or whom you love. Some like to hang posters of their favorite actor, TV show, or movie. Others will hang pictures of their loved ones back home. In the first and third picture above, they hung pictures of family friends. The second picture is of a white board hung in my hallway. Here is where people like to write silly things to express themselves. Looking at all the time dialogues it is easy to see that college students spend most of their time either studying/ doing homework or hanging out with friends. College students have a lot of time on their hands, but most of that has to be used for studying. College isn’t about socialization, but school. Sometimes people forget that, but all the people above seem to realize that and put a lot of time and effort into their schoolwork. In their spare time, the most common thing to do is hang out friends.
